Testimonials
Beautiful homestead which all the family loved as there was plenty of space for the 10 of us.
The kitchen area was a focal point for the family to gather before and after our event. The hosts were super helpful and the homestead had everything we needed. Thank you Phillipa and Dean Jenny V. Nov 2022 Fabulous! Quiet with amazing history and ambience My partner and I eloped to Waihora and had our wedding there. The grounds and house were a perfect backdrop for photos and for relaxing as newlyweds. The fire in the kitchen is awesome and scale of everything is ideal for a group. The bonus of WiFi, Netflix and a spa just adds to the experience. Phillipa is perfect host and we will definitely be back. Thank you. Very peaceful and relaxing
This home is a great place to get away from it all. Surrounded by lots of mature trees it is very peaceful and has a lovely rustic appeal. Plenty of room for everyone in the big bedrooms and living areas, and the verandah with its outdoor furniture is a lovely place to sit and look out to the Tararuas, enjoying the evening sun. Beds all super comfy with good quality linen. Host very helpful and quick to respond to questions. Thank you Phillipa for a lovely stay. Sonia R. Sep 2022 Lovely house to stay in. It is always a privilege to stay in an historic house with so much character. This was no exception . Beautiful rooms, really well set up kitchen facilities so you can cook, and lovely gardens- and tennis court. Highly recommended. Phil S. January 2021 Beautiful House. We had a really lovely stay in these old farmhouse which beautifully mixes history with modern day comfort. We loved the long wooden table in the kitchen, which just encouraged conversation and meals together. Great hostess as well. Very highly recommended. Sally S. March 2021 |
Smell the wood smoke. "We spent a weekend at Waihora and OH MY WORD. I'm only giving it five stars because I can't give it fourteen. - Perfect setting. A magic house, views to the hills, curious beasts of various sorts in the paddocks. I LITERALLY WOKE UP TO THE SMELL OF WOODSMOKE. That's some Davy Crockett stuff right there. - Had a kip in the BELGIAN CONGO ROOM with a large ship. You don't get that at the Marriott. - The table in the kitchen is about four hundred feet long and if you're quick you can bag the end near the fire and get your mates to bring you wine. YOU'RE WELCOME. - SPA TIME! - Legendary hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for Phil and Dean, what a welcome and all the stories!" Ben, Wellington. July 2020. |
